Why does this exist?

While this tool was created for no particular reason (I was sick in bed for three days and needed a low-pressure project), it does have some real uses.

Promoting events on social media

Perhaps you’re a doomsday prophet? Maybe your birthday is coming up? If so, these calendars are an unusual and eye-catching way of drawing attention to your event.

Displaying links for multiple dates

You may want to post multiple links for an event, allowing customers to skip a step by choosing a date directly from social media or email.

Example: The circus is in town and there’s only three nights available.

Where can you use these calendars?

Email

The vast majority of email clients will render these correctly. Just make sure you select the typeface Courier New if you’re using one of the monospace calendars. They render correctly on all devices I’ve tested.

Social Media

The bottom three calendars will render fine almost anywhere online.

However, social media sites will sometimes render of the enclosed alphanumeric characters as emoji. Luckily, that only applies to the ⓤⓖⓛⓘⓔⓢⓣ calendar that you probably won’t use anyway.

The monospace calendars won’t render properly on social media sites, except in code blocks on sites like Reddit.
